(MENAFN – Tribal News Network) BANNU, 3 November: The displaced families, who have returned from Afghanistan to Madakhel area of North Waziristan, have said they will start protests if the government did not allow them to bring back their vehicles from Afghanistan within 15 days.
The elders of families, who have returned from Afghanistan, held a Jirga at Qazi Fazal Qadir Shaheed Park in Bannu on Friday. They said they had to migrate to Afghanistan due to military operation Zarb-e-Azb and they also took their vehicles and other belongings to Afghanistan at that time. They said the security officials had promised them at the time of their return to Waziristan that they will be allowed to bring back their vehicles from Afghanistan in the second phase of repatriation. They said hundreds of vehicles are stranded in Afghanistan and the authorities are not allowing them to bring back these vehicles.
Malik Ghulam Madakhel, head of the displaced people’s committee, told TNN that the people have returned from Afghanistan, but their vehicles are stranded in Afghanistan.
‘We are facing many difficulties without our vehicles. We appeal to the general and corps commander to allow us to bring back our vehicles from Afghanistan,’ he said.
Malik Ghulam said the people of Madakhel Wazir tribe direly need their own vehicles for daily activities. He said the officials should honour their promise and allow the people to bring back their vehicles.
The participants of the Jirga said they will be left with no other option, but to protest if they were not allowed to bring back their vehicles from Afghanistan.
